Al Hilal offer for Italian midfielder Marco Verratti will not be accepted by PSG. The 30-year-old is one of many PSG players who have been mentioned in connection with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Al Hilal made a £25.7 million approach for Verratti this summer. PSG, though, immediately rejected the offer. We’ll have to wait and watch whether the Saudia team comes back with a higher offer for the European champion. Al Hilal and Verratti have already verbally agreed to a three-year contract. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the PSG chairman, has not yet given the go-ahead for the completion of this agreement, nevertheless.
Last July, Verratti committed to the French capital for four years. The Italian midfielder is prepared to back out of this agreement and embark on a brand-new journey to the Middle East, though. Although there weren’t many takers, Verratti’s representative had previously stated that his client was willing to go back to Italy this summer. He will depart PSG after 11 years and travel to Saudi Arabia.
Recently, the PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe eluded Al Hilal. The World Cup champion refused to play in the Middle East even though the French powerhouses approved of the Saudia team. They are apparently interested in Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli who led Serie A in goals last year. Al Hilal is prepared to pay €140 million (£120 million/$154 million) for the Napoli forward’s services. Osimhen played a key role on the team that captured the Scudetto championship the previous year.
