The Saudi Arabian Pro League team Al Ittihad will sign free agent midfielder N’Golo Kante to a deal. Kante currently plays for Chelsea. The sides were unable to come to an arrangement to keep N’Golo Kante in London past the end of his CFC contract.
Kante was purchased by Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016 for £32 million. He established himself as a defensive midfield stalwart for Chelsea after joining them following a great and remarkable season with the Foxes, aiding Antonio Conte’s squad in winning the Premier League. Kante was exceptional at halting play, seizing the ball, and closing spaces. He gained a reputation for being recognized as one of the top defensive midfielders in Europe.
The summer contract for Kante was coming to an end, and CFC did start contract extension negotiations. The Frenchman decided to accept a contract extension over departing as a free agent because he wanted to stay in London.
Kante will join Al Ittihad, where he will earn €100 million year, including image rights, business relationships, and a portfolio of creative investments. He will sign a deal with Al Ittihad that is effective through the summer of 2025, entitling him to a salary of €200 million.
