According to Sky Germany, Hoffenheim and Fenerbahce are close to agreeing on the transfer of defender Attila Szalai.
Although the precise terms of the fee still need to be worked out, it is anticipated to be in the neighborhood of €15 million. Alexander Rosen, Fenerbahce, the Hoffenheim football director, wants Szalai to be the team’s defensive captain. The 25-year-old has expressed interest in joining a Bundesliga team.
Szalai has also been connected to Union Berlin, but according to Kicker, the club decided against signing the 25-year-old and is still searching for a central defender.
Szalai participated in 52 games for Fenerbahce last year as the team finished second in the league to rival Galatasaray.
Hoffenheim’s defence, which at times had to rely on John Anthony Brooks, Ermin Bicakcic, and Kevin Vogt. In addition to Ozan Kabak, Stanley N’Soki, and Kevin Akpoguma, will gain more young with the addition of the 25-year-old.
