Barcelona have officially announced the acquisition of Vitor Roque. A promising Brazilian teenager, who has agreed to a seven-year contract with the club. Barcelona managed to secure Roque’s signature despite facing competition from Arsenal. Also from Chelsea, and Manchester United, which is considered a significant achievement. The total value of the deal is estimated to be around €61m, contingent on meeting certain performance-based conditions. However, only €30m is guaranteed, and Roque is scheduled to join Barcelona. In the following season due to the club’s current salary limitations.
Roque has been identified as the long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski. Barcelona’s seasoned striker who, despite finishing as the top scorer in Spain last season, is already 34 years old. Given the club’s financial constraints, Barcelona considers signing Roque as a top priority, recognizing that it may take a considerable amount of time before they can make a substantial investment in a replacement for Lewandowski when the time comes.

Having already represented Brazil at the international level, the 18-year-old forward has an impressive track record, scoring 22 goals and providing 9 assists in just 68 appearances for his current club, Atletico Paranaense. Notably, five of his goals came in the Copa Libertadores, where he featured in 13 matches. Alongside his fellow teammate and future Real Madrid striker, Endrick Felipe, Roque is expected to lead Brazil’s attacking line in the next decade.
