Le Mans winner Richard Bradley thinks that it’s possible for Red Bull to legally transfer their F1 2024 RB19 car to AlphaTauri for the upcoming season.
Red Bull’s junior team has been struggling in the Formula1 2023 season. Only getting three points in the first 12 races. As a result, there will be important changes happening in the team based in Faenza. There will be more changes and will be announced soon.
It is already known that the previous person in charge of Ferrari races. Laurent Mekies, will replace the retiring Franz Tost as the leader of the team. Peter Bayer will also join as the CEO. The team will also get a new name and will have to work closely with the main Red Bull team as much as they are allowed to.
Bradley says to expect that challenger to remain
“Very, very competitive considering the stability of the regulations between 2023 and 2024. Honestly, with the regulations staying fairly stagnant next year, it really won’t make that big a difference. So this year’s Red Bull will still be very, very competitive next year, no question, because of the level it’s at. It’s a different one with Red Bull and AlphaTauri slash Hugo Boss, or whatever it’s going to end up becoming, because Red Bull actually is the funding thing behind AlphaTauri.”
When you first hear about this, it sounds crazy because it is not allowed for teams to just copy another team’s car and use it in the next season. However, Bradley, who won in the LMP2 class at Le Mans in 2015. He thinks that the rules might make it possible. Although only the FIA has the final say. Bradley implied that because Red Bull owns and supports both teams. There might be a way for AlphaTauri, or possibly known as ‘Hugo Boss Bulls Racing’ in the future, to potentially take control of the RB19 car.
