Busch Beer has teased NASCAR fans with the promise of “big news” to be announced on Tuesday. Their use of a watermelon emoji strongly suggests their plans. With Kevin Harvick, the 2014 champion, set to retire after the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. Busch Light had two options: exit the sport entirely or find another driver and potentially a new team to sponsor. Ultimately, the decision to remain in the sport was an easy one.
On Monday evening, the Busch Beer Twitter account shared a post hinting at their upcoming announcement. Featuring a rolling watermelon emoji and a video. Earlier in the 2023 season, Ross Chastain of Trackhouse Racing Team was heavily linked to securing sponsorship from Busch Light following Harvick’s retirement. The watermelon post from Busch Beer all but confirms their new deal with Chastain. Indicating a move from Stewart-Haas Racing to Trackhouse Racing Team.

The extent of Busch Light’s commitment to the team is yet to be revealed. Including whether they will be a full-time primary sponsor and their involvement with Trackhouse Racing Team’s other full-time entry. Daniel Suarez’s No. 99 Chevrolet, or the PROJECT91 No. 91 Chevrolet.
Ross Chastain Continues to Impress in Second Season with Trackhouse Racing Team
Chastain is currently in his second season with Trackhouse Racing Team. Which is in its third season of Cup Series competition. After acquiring the Chip Ganassi Racing Cup Series operation in 2021, the team signed Chastain. Who had previously driven for Chip Ganassi. In his first season with the team, Chastain secured his first two career victories, qualified for the playoffs, and reached the Championship 4. Ultimately finishing as the runner-up in the standings. He has already added another win in 2023.
Stewart-Haas Racing expects Josh Berry to replace Harvick in the No. 4 Ford next year. Following an impressive substitute driving stint for Hendrick Motorsports earlier this season. Stewart-Haas Racing is still finalizing sponsorship details.
