After the Austrian Grand Prix, Mercedes F1 praised Toto Wolff, their team principal, as the “greatest team principal of all time.” The Silver Arrows took to social media to express their admiration and pay tribute to Wolff’s accomplishments. At 51 years old, Wolff has already secured eight constructor titles with Mercedes from 2014 to 2021. Notably, Lewis Hamilton has played a crucial role in each of these victories, winning the drivers’ championship in six out of the eight successful seasons.

Despite the current dominance of Red Bull and Max Verstappen, Mercedes wanted to highlight their own achievements ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix. They released a compilation video of Wolff on their official Twitter account, declaring him as the best team principal ever. The video showcased his remarkable track record, with a voiceover emphasizing his eight constructor titles, an unparalleled accomplishment that solidifies his status as a king in the sport.
However, the Austrian Grand Prix was a race that Wolff would prefer to put behind him swiftly. Verstappen secured his seventh victory of the year, while Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez claimed the other podium places. Hamilton and his teammate George Russell finished in P7 and P8, respectively, with Russell moving ahead of Hamilton due to post-race penalties. While Wolff may not have been thrilled with these results, he will undoubtedly hope for improved performance at Silverstone in the upcoming race.
