Lando Norris has stated that he is not considering a long-term career outside of McLaren despite the growing rumours of a transfer.
The 23-year-old British driver has been one of the standouts of the 2023 campaign. He continued to impress in Hungary, when he earned McLaren a second consecutive P2 finish.
Lando Norris made his F1 debut with McLaren in 2019 and has since been one of the grid’s most reliable drivers, but his impressive performances have won him a lot of fans.
Red Bull has been vocal about their admiration for Norris, whom they regard as Max Verstappen’s long-term partner.
Lando Norris current McLaren deal, which runs through the end of 2025, may entice him to stay with the team given that it is making significant progress in the development race this year.
Norris told Channel 4 during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend when asked about his long-term McLaren future.
“It’s not something I think about. see it a lot on social media and all this nonsense because a lot of people come up with some of these things that I see. I’m happy with the team.”
Norris did qualify his assertion by expressing his ambition to win F1 races once more. Despite winning eight podiums, the 23-year-old has never reached the highest position.
“I could be happier if we were winning races but I also know that it takes time and a lot of effort, a lot of dedication to it. But that’s what I signed up for.”
