David De Gea leaves Manchester United after contract expires

On Saturday, David de Gea announced his departure from Manchester United after a 12-year stint. Stating that it is the appropriate moment to embark on a fresh challenge.  “I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club.
I took incredible pride every time I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honor only bestowed upon a few lucky footballers.”

Following the expiration of De Gea’s contract last Friday, United initially stated that negotiations with the Spanish international were ongoing. However, subsequent reports suggested that De Gea had initially agreed to a contract extension. Only for the club to retract their offer and propose reduced terms instead.
