It has been officially confirmed by Real Madrid that Benzema is leaving the real Madrid club this summer, with the striker departing the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu after 14 seasons representing Los Blanco.
This Sunday’s home match against Athletic Club will be Benzema‘s final game for the club, as an era ends at Real Madrid.
Benzema has received a lucrative proposal to become the latest big name to join The Saudi Pro League, following Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr in January.
The French forward departs Real Madrid as the club’s second highest goal scorer and as the reigning Ballon d’Or winner, having won football’s most prestigious individual accolade after leading the Spanish side to La Liga and Champions League success in 2021/22.
The club have released an official statement confirming the 35-year-old’s departure and have thanked him for his service, which has seen Benzema score 353 goals in 647 appearances since signing from Lyon in 2009.
The Club Stated
“Real Madrid is and always will be his home, and we wish him and all his family all the best in this new stage of his life.”
